NOBILITY
The Sharīf Mowlāy Ḥasan of Morocco. He was a student of the great scholar and sage, Shaykh Muḥammad ibn Al-Ḥabīb (may Allah be well pleased with him). He is one of the most luminous, kind, gentle, loving, and awe-inspiring human beings I have had the honor of meeting. May Allah preserve and bless him.

Jami’ ad-Da’wah al-Islamiyyah
This mosque, one of the biggest in Tripoli, was only a few blocks away from my grandfather’s house. During Ramadan the mosque was so full that it was sometimes hard to find a place to pray.

The Qur’an is so powerful when we allow ourselves to hear it not only with our ears, but with our hearts. Sometimes the words bring deep emotions, even if the one listening is not able to understand exactly what is begin said.
Again, here is one of the shortest, yet most significant chapters of the Qur’an. Some scholars and sages, when asked to teach theology, will simply recite this chapter. It is titled “Purity of Faith” and is recited in the method known as Qalun. Below is the translation.
Chapter 112: Purity of Faith
Say, ‘He is God the One,
God the Eternal.
He begot no one nor was He begotten.
No one is comparable to Him.’

Man of God
I can easily say one of the most amazing experiences I had was first meeting this man, Shaykh Abdullah Husayn Al-Jo’di. Despite his age and small frame, he had an awe-inspiring presence and his face emanated light.
It is with a heavy heart that I post this picture because I just received news today that he passed away last month in Ta’iz, Yemen. To God we belong, and to Him we return. Please pray for him.
